Sigrid Limprecht

Director of the Bonner Kinemathek and the Bonn International Silent Film Festival, board member of the AG Kino-Gilde, lecturer at teaching institutes nationwide and driving force behind festivals, exhibitions and workshops: Sigrid Limprecht, doesn’t see the realisation of art and culture as a problem, but rather as a part of the solution and as an engine for forward-looking developments. In her view, an ever wider audience must be given access to a wide range of high-quality cultural options.

Sigrid Limprecht is an expert on film. Her experience as the director of a cinema, a curator and as a spokesperson for film in debates on cultural politics have made her a sought after partner in discussions and seminars. She is the one to ask when there is a need to bring her field of expertise forward in practical terms, and to develop strategies for the future. Topics such as film distribution and the digital future of film are currently central interests of hers and inform her teaching activities.

But also beyond the field of film, Sigrid is an alert and active participant of the cultural agenda of her town and her region. She has been dealing with the challenges facing a socio-cultural centre (the Brotfabrik in Bonn, where the Bonner Kinemathek is situated) for twenty years. She is familiar with the threats which scant community budgets pose to culture, and she contributes her experience and her development-oriented approach to committees and commissions.

In her recently founded agency realitycheck & partners, Sigrid Limprecht advises culture makers and institutions in matters of strategy and development.
